The company

Since over 30 years Sigurd Hildebrandt is working in the maritime industry. After graduating from the RWTH Aachen as MSc in ship building he gained his first experiences at Blohm+Voss. As sales and later project engineer he was responsible for the then biggest export order every carried out in the history of Blohm+Voss. After successfully completing this he became head of the export department. Later Sigurd Hildebrandt made a name for himself as CEO of the middle-sized shipyard Peters Schiffbau AG.

Through his transfer to the supplier industry some years later he extended his experiences and knowledge of the maritime industry. For the past 6 years he was working in the markets of North- and South-America as international sales manager for Voith Schneider Propeller before heading the hamburg sales office of of Voith Turbo Marine. Early 2014 he founded his own business SupMar. 

Henning von Wedel graduated as MSc from TU Hannover as a Mechanical Engineer with a focus on ships Diesel Engines. As part of his national service he worked as a Helicopter Pilot in Naval Air Wings 3 and 5 of the German Navy. After finishing his service, he worked for Motorenwerke Bremerhaven AG as Project Engineer and supported Wärtsilä Ship Design Germany as Innovation Manager.

The concepts he developed were associated with Offshore Wind Logistics, LNG Infrastructure, Engine Development evaluation, Special Vessels and various Navy Projects. He coordinated R&D Projects for regional, nationwide and EU – funded applications in the fields of renewable energies and energy efficiency. Henning joined SupMar in 2016.
